An Azar alternative, built for India

What Azar is

Azar (azarlive.com) is a mobile video chat app from Hyperconnect, a company based in South Korea that launched it in 2014. The App Store listing rates it 18+, and lists a mutual-match system, interest discovery and optional paid filters for gender and country. It describes using automated systems and human review to monitor video and audio, and blurring video that breaks its rules. It has iOS and Android apps. We couldn't confirm whether there's a web version.

Why people look for an Azar alternative

• They'd rather use a browser than install an app.
• They want to meet people in India without paying for a country filter.
• They want a service that asks for a date of birth up front. Azar's terms (updated February 2026) say users must be 18 or over, and a help page mentions "different types of age checks", but we couldn't confirm the details.

How kynq compares

• kynq matches you with someone else in India, and it's free. On Azar, filtering by gender or country is a paid option according to its App Store listing.
• kynq runs in your browser on a phone or laptop. Azar is an app.
• Both are for adults only. kynq asks for your date of birth before you can match and doesn't check ID. We couldn't confirm Azar's method.
• Azar describes automated and human moderation of video and audio. kynq relies on reports and blocking, with report and block in the call controls, and doesn't claim automatic moderation.
• kynq doesn't record or store video or audio. We couldn't confirm Azar's recording policy; read its privacy policy for the details.
• kynq has text chat with GIFs, conversation starters, quick games and camera effects. We can't see all of Azar's current features, so check its listing.
• Azar is a much bigger company with a global community. kynq is smaller.
