Is kynq safe?
No random video chat can promise you'll never meet someone unpleasant, and we won't claim kynq can. What we can do is tell you plainly what we've built, and where the limits are, so you can decide.

What we do
- kynq is for adults 18 and over only. We ask for your date of birth before you can match, and we block anyone under 18.
- You sign in with Google, and we also ask for your phone number to finish signing up.
- Skip (Next person), report and block are in the call controls. Blocking ends the call, and you're never matched with that person again.
- Video and audio are not recorded or stored by kynq.
- You're matched with someone else in India, and we avoid pairing you again with someone you just talked to.
What we can't promise
- We can't verify your date of birth against an ID. Someone under 18 could enter a false one, which is why reports matter.
- The other person can record their own screen, or take screenshots. kynq can't stop that, so only show what you're comfortable with.
- Text chat is stored so it can show in your history, so don't type anything you wouldn't want kept.
- We can't stop someone from behaving badly during a call. We can only give you the tools to end it and report it.
What happens when you report someone
Reporting from inside the call saves the report against that call, and a person reviews it afterwards. An account that collects three open reports is automatically restricted from matching while that review happens. Blocking is separate: it ends the call straight away and stops future matches. What you can do to stay safe
- Don't share your full name, address, college, phone number or social media handles.
- Keep your face, uniform, ID and anything that shows where you live out of view.
- Don't move the chat to another app, and don't send photos or video.
- Skip, report and block freely. You never owe a stranger a reason to leave.
- Be wary of anyone who asks for money, photos or secrecy.
Questions people ask
- Is kynq safe?
- It has an age check, easy skipping, reporting and blocking, and doesn't record video, but no random video chat can guarantee your safety. Keep personal details private and leave if a chat feels wrong.
- Is kynq safe for teenagers?
- No. kynq is for adults 18 and over only, and blocks anyone under 18.
- Does kynq record my video?
- No. Video and audio aren't recorded or stored by kynq. The other person could still record their own screen.
- Does kynq check my ID?
- No. We check your date of birth but can't verify it against an ID, so we also rely on reports.
- Can someone I block find me again?
- No. Blocking ends the call, and you're never matched with that person again.
- Is kynq different from Omegle?
- They're separate services. Omegle shut down in November 2023.
