What you need before you start

A phone or laptop with a working camera and microphone.
A current browser such as Chrome or Safari, with camera and microphone access allowed.
A steady connection. Wi-Fi or a good 4G/5G signal works best, because video uses a lot of data.
A Google account to sign in, and to be 18 or older.

What you can do during the call

Talk and text

Video and voice are the main thing, but you can also open text chat, send GIFs, or drop in a conversation starter when the talk goes quiet.

Play a game

Both of you can play quick games such as Tic Tac Toe, Rock Paper Scissors, Would You Rather and Quick Quiz. Either of you can switch to a different one.

Use camera effects

Filters, lenses and a light skin-smoothing option are in the effects panel, and you can react with hand gestures on camera.

Skip, report or block

Next person moves you on straight away. The flag icon reports someone, and Block and end call stops the call and prevents another match with that person.

If the video or sound isn't working

Camera not showing: check your browser's site permissions for camera and microphone, then refresh the page.
They can't hear you: check you haven't muted yourself in the call controls, and that the right microphone is selected in your browser.
The call won't connect or keeps freezing: tap Next person to try someone else, and move to a stronger connection. Some networks and firewalls block video, and switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data (or the reverse) often fixes it.
Blurry or laggy picture: close other apps and tabs that use the camera or the network.

Your privacy on the call

kynq doesn't record or store your video or audio. Text chat is stored so it can be delivered and shown in your history. Anyone you talk to could record their screen, so keep personal details, your address and financial information out of the conversation.
