How random video chat works
The idea is simple, but a few details decide whether it feels good or awkward.
1. You're matched
You join a waiting pool. When someone compatible is also waiting, you're connected. On kynq that can depend on the topic you picked and where you chose to match: worldwide, India, or your state.
2. You talk
Video and audio go directly between the two of you where possible. You can also text, send GIFs, use conversation starters, or play a quick game together.
3. You move on, or stay
Tap Next person to skip at any time. If you enjoyed the conversation, add them as a friend and keep talking later.
What makes one random chat different from another
- Who's allowed in: age rules, and how they're checked.
- What happens to your video: whether it's recorded or stored.
- How you leave: a skip button that's always one tap away, plus reporting and blocking.
- How much control you have: choosing topic and region instead of a pure lottery.
How kynq handles those
- 18+ only. We ask for your date of birth before you can match. We can't verify it against an ID, so we also rely on reports.
- Video and audio are not recorded or stored by kynq. The other person could still record their own screen, so only show what you're comfortable with.
- Next person, report and block are always in the call controls. Blocking ends the call and you're never matched with that person again.
- You choose a topic and where to match, and we avoid pairing you again with someone you just talked to.
Getting the first minute right

- Is random video chat free?
- On kynq, chatting is free. A few extras use Koins, which you can earn by chatting, for example choosing who to match with or trying premium camera effects.
- Do I need to download an app?
- No. kynq runs in the browser on your phone or computer. Allow camera and microphone access when asked.
- Is random video chat safe?

- Is random chat the same as random video chat?
- Random chat is the wider idea, which can be text-only. Random video chat adds live video and voice. kynq has both: video calls with text chat alongside.
