Talk to people from India, live on video

Updated

If you live outside India and want to talk to people who live there, a random video chat built in India is one of the quickest ways to do it. You're not scrolling profiles or waiting for replies: you tap a button and you're talking to someone, face to face, in seconds.

kynq is a free 1-to-1 video chat for adults 18+. Almost everyone on it is in India, so if you're joining from the US, the UK, Europe or anywhere else, the person you meet will usually be Indian.

18+ only. Free to start. Sign in with Google, no download.

How it works from outside India

1. Sign in and confirm you're 18+

Sign in with Google and enter your date of birth. kynq runs in your browser on a phone or computer, so there's nothing to install.

2. Choose Worldwide

In your match settings, pick Worldwide. The India and My state options are meant for people living in India.

3. Tap Start and say hi

You're paired with someone online at the same moment. Talk, text, send a GIF or play a quick game. Tap Next person whenever you want to move on.

When to join

India is on IST (UTC+5:30), with no daylight saving. More people tend to be online in the Indian evening, which is the morning to early afternoon in the US and the afternoon in most of Europe.

What conversations are like

  • Most people speak English, and many also speak Hindi or another Indian language. A friendly hello in English works almost everywhere.
  • People are often curious about where you're from. Questions about food, festivals, cricket, films, college and daily life are easy openers in both directions.
  • It's random. Some calls are short, some go on for an hour. If one isn't working, tap Next person; nobody takes it personally.
  • If you click with someone, add them as a friend and keep talking later by text or video.

Staying safe

  • kynq is 18+. We ask everyone for a date of birth before they can match. We can't check it against an ID, so we also rely on reports.
  • Video and audio aren't recorded or stored by kynq, but the other person could record their own screen. Only show what you're comfortable with.
  • Report and block are always in the call controls. Blocking ends the call and you won't be matched with that person again.
  • Never send money or gift cards to someone you met on a call, however good the story. If something serious happens, contact your local emergency number or police.
